ICC releases the names of Men’s ODI Team of the Year

International Cricket Council, released the names of the ODI players of the year 2017, today on 18th January 2018. For Pakistani Fans, there is a good news, we have two Pakistani Players in this list. Lets begin with the first players of that list.

1. David Warner

David Warner is an Australian player, he performer in 22 matches and scored 1424 runs and his run rate is quite impressive i-e 67.80. Warner Scored 2 half centuries (the stats are between 21 Sep 2016 and 31 Oct 2017).

Warner faced 500 balls in 2017. Warner has been called a perfect opener with highest strike rate for Kangaroos.

2. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is an Indian opener. In 2017, he played 26 matches and scored 1416 runs with a rate of 61.56. Sharma scored 6 half centuries and 6 centuries.

Sharma became is the first batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket. In 2017, he had 51 sixes in his account, the most ever by any player in the year.

3. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the current captain of Indian team. Virat played 31 matches in 2017 and scored 1818 runs with a rate of 82.63. Virat scored 7 centuries and 9 half centuries. He scored fourth highest runs by any batsman in 2017.

4. Babar Azam

The Pakistani star Babar Azam played 21 matches and scored 1,232 runs at 77.00. Babar scored 7 centuries and 2 half-centuries. Babar started his ODI career with a good score, he scored three centuries against West Indies in 2016.

5. AB de Villiers

South African batsman AB de Villiers played 19 matches in 2017. He scored 773 runs with a rate of 59.46. de Villiers scored 5 half centuries and 1 century. 2017 was not a lucky year for AB de Villiers.

Quinton de Kock is the wicket keeper of South African cricket team. In 2017, he played 25 matches and scored 1338 runs with a rate of 55.75. He scored 3 centuries and 9 half centuries.

7. Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes, the English player. Stokes played 18 matches and scored 764 runs with a rate of  63.66. Ben Stokes scored 3 centuries and 4 half centuries. He took 16 wickets at a rate 39.68.

Ben stokes is among the world’s best all rounders. However, I am not impressed from his performance in T20, as he was responsible for England’s defeat from West Indies in T20 final 2016.

8. Trent Boult

Trent Boult is a New Zealand’s bowler. He played 25 matches and took 45 wickets at a rate of 26.86. His best is five wickets in two matches. He took 16 wickets in 2017.

9. Hasan Ali

The Pakistani pacer Hasan Ali played 21 matches and took 48 wickets at a rate of 17.70. Hasan Ali had 3 five wicket haul. He performed very well in ICC Champions Tropy 2017. He is now ICC’s Emerging Cricketer of the year.

10. Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is a leg spinner of Afghan cricket team. He played 19 matches in which he took 50 wickets at a rate of 11.20. Rashid has 2 five wicket haul. His best is 7/18 against West Indies.

11. Jasprit Bumrah

The 11th man is Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian pacer. Bumrah played 27 matches and took 45 wickets at a rate of 25.68. Bumrah holds one five wicket haul.

Bumrah started his ODI career in 2016 and in few months he became the most popular bowlers of the world. However, Bumrah was unlucky in final of Champions Trophy 2017, where bowled a No ball on which Fakhar Zaman was out. But on the review umpire gave that ball as a no ball.
