PMLQ joins PTI for Punjab Government

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid e Azam refused to support Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in formation of Punjab government.

The seven members of provincial assembly will be giving their votes in favor of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s nominee for Chief Minister.

The decision was taken in party meeting chaired by president of PML-Q Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain.

Shujaat Hussain directed the party members to strengthen the alliance with the PTI, adding that the PML-N has always contacted PML-Q whenever they are helpless.

PML-N senior leader Ayaz Sadiq had contacted Chaudhary Pervez Elahi for their support in the formation of government in Punjab, PML-N offered a senior post to the PML-Q in Punjab government.

PTI needs support of at least 148 MPAs to have its chief minister elected.

PTI is getting back to back independent candidates with them and with the support of PML-Q, now on paper they are standing with 138 members in Punjab.
