Lahore: PML-Q Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed rejoins his old political party PML-N on 4th February 2018. The senator held a meeting with PML-N’s President Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Jatti Umrah where Nawaz Sharif invited him to join his party.

Mushahid Hussain talked to a Pakistani news channel, where he confirmed this news but he further said that currently we had no discussion on Senate’s ticket.

Mushahid Hussain the person who was in PML-N, when Musharraf tackled the Government and Mushahid joined the Musharraf.

Maryam Nawaz, Pervez Rasheed and Saad Rafique were also there at today’s meeting.

Why Mushahid Hussain Gets Back to PML-N

Mushahid’s senate seat is going to an end on 11 March 2018, and he was afraid to loose in senate elections 2018 because PML-Q has not much seats by which he can get in to the Upper house.

There were three options for Mushahid Hussain, to get Senate’s seat.

  1. PML-N
  2. PTI
  3. PPP

If we look around three of them, the best one is PML-N, Nawaz’s party enjoys a huge number of seats as compare to supposition.

Mushahid Hussain has sent his resignation to PML-Q chief Chaudhary Shujat Hussain. Currently, Mushahid is on a technocrat seat from Islamabad. Mushahid might get elected in Senate elections 2018 from Punjab Assembly because the Punjab is core area of PML-N. PML-N has majority in Punjab Assembly.

Mushahid is one of the powerful person in Pakistani politics. Currently is the head of Senate’s standing committee on Defense.

Mushahid was a former Journalist, who worked in a newspaper The Muslim in 1990’s. Mushahid enjoyed Information Ministry in Nawaz Sharif’s reign from 1997 to 1999. After Musharraf’s Martial Law Mushahid ditched PML-N and join PML-Q.
