Narowal: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was shot with a gun and injured during a corner meeting in his constituency in Narowal, according to Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif this was an assassination attempt.

Shehbaz said that he had spoken to Ahsan Iqbal, who “is in high spirits”.
“Those who indulged in this heinous act will be brought to justice. PMLN will not be browbeaten into submission,” he said in a Tweet.
According to Police, Ahsan Iqbal sustained a bullet due to which his right shoulder is wounded. After the incident, Ahsan Iqbal was immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Narowal, Iqbal will be airlifted to Lahore for detailed medical treatment.
Police has taken the suspected shooter into their custody. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Kishwar, the shooter is identified as Abid Hussain, who is about 20-22 years old, shot at Ahsan Iqbal with a 30 bore pistol.

“One of the shooters has been arrested and [is] being interrogated by the police,” Punjab government tweeted.
According to Talal Chaudhary, Ahsan Iqbal is now out of danger.
