On 22nd February a Careem Captain Junaid Mustafa was shot dead after a robbery in Islamabad.
Now another Careem captain was attacked and robbed on Sunday. Rizwan Niazi, the guy who belongs to Mianwali, was attacked by a sharp edged object by robbers who took away his 18,000 Rupees.
According to victim, he was travelling towards his home when a bike came towards him near Saddar’s metro station in Rawalpindi. Rizwan thought that they might be searching for some place, he stopped his car.
The robbers took their gun and asked Rizwan to came out from his car and then they searched his pocket and took 18,000 Rupees.
Suddenly a car moved from that area, Rizwan found a way to tackle the situation and he snatched the gun of the robber. But the robber attacked on his face with a sharp edged object and ran away.
According to Rizwan, the robbers fled on their motorbike which did not have any number plate. Rizwan claimed that he is an active worker of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Mianwali Chapter.
According to sources, CPO Rawalpindi has taken notice of the incident and has directed DSP Civil Lines to file a FIR and bring those culprits within 48 hours.

1. Careem is working closely with the Police. We have shared important data and insights, which will have led to major developments in the investigation process and will help in bringing culprits to justice. Local authorities have reported some early successes in the investigation. We will continue our follow up and use all legal resources to ensure that the case comes to its logical conclusion.
2. Our team is in constant contact with Junaid Mustafa’s family to provide whatever help we can during this incredibly difficult time. While nothing can ever replace Junaid or take away the family’s sorrow, due compensation will be provided to the family.
3. Careem is forming ‘Safety Committees’ in each city. These Committees will include Captains, Customers, and LEAs who will develop strategies to enhance safety features and processes that will protect our Captains and Customers from such crimes. The output of these consultations will be shared with the wider community with an action plan within a week.
